Privacy, in plain language.

The short version

You can read the homepage and blog without creating an account. These pages do not include an advertising or analytics tracker. The Twitch player does not connect until you choose Load player. YouTube players connect only after you choose Play here. Social links and the shop take you to separate services.

Website requests and technical data

When your browser requests a page or file, the server receives information needed to deliver it, including your IP address, the requested address, request time, and browser information. Requests may also include a referring page address. Technical logs can record this information for operating the website, diagnosing errors and handling abuse.

Cloudflare sits in front of the web server to deliver cached content and help protect the site. It receives connection and request information, including IP addresses, when serving the site. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy for its handling of that information.

The homepage retrieves recent posts from this site's own blog. That request stays on prolucius.com; it does not send your details to a separate content-feed provider.

The optional Twitch player

Selecting Load player connects your browser to Twitch. Twitch then receives connection information such as your IP address and browser details, and may use cookies or similar storage under its own policy. If you are signed into Twitch, its handling of that connection may also depend on your account.

Selecting Unload player removes the embedded player from this page. It does not erase data already received by Twitch or clear cookies Twitch has stored. You can instead use the direct channel link, or read the site without loading the player.

Videos and YouTube

The site retrieves the public ProLucius YouTube feed on the server and caches video information and thumbnails. Your browser loads these previews from prolucius.com, without contacting YouTube. Saved previews remain available when the feed is unavailable.

Choosing Play here loads a YouTube player using youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain. This still connects your browser to Google/YouTube, which receives connection and playback information and may use storage when you interact with the player. Privacy-enhanced mode does not make viewing anonymous.

Unload video removes that player, but does not erase information already received by Google/YouTube. You can instead follow the direct YouTube link. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Cookies, fonts and other browser resources

The main pages and blog theme serve their fonts, artwork and interface scripts from prolucius.com, except for the optional media players you explicitly load. Their interface code does not set advertising cookies or save your reading history. Grav's administration area uses login/session functionality for the site administrator; visitors do not need to sign in to read posts.

You can manage cookies and site storage in your browser. Blocking third-party content may stop an embedded player from working.

Social links and the shop

Links to Twitch, YouTube, Instagram and X open those platforms. An ordinary link does not load a social-media feed inside this site. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy applies.

The shop at shop.prolucius.com is hosted by Fourthwall. Its mailing-list signup is on that separate storefront, not on the main site. If you choose to sign up there, the email address you provide is handled through that storefront and its applicable privacy information.

Messages and privacy requests

If you send ProLucius a message through a linked social platform, the message and profile information you choose to share are available through that platform. Please do not send passwords, payment information or sensitive identity documents.

For questions about this policy or information held by ProLucius, send a message to @prolucius_ on Instagram and identify it as a privacy request. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be entitled to request access, correction or deletion, or to object to certain uses. Requests about data held independently by Twitch, Fourthwall or another platform should also be directed to that provider.

Retention and service providers

The relevant retention period depends on the information and the service handling it: technical server records, messages sent through social platforms and a storefront signup are not a single shared database. External providers set their own retention rules. Contact ProLucius if you need retention details about a particular record or want to request its deletion.
